Of course I want to play games, what else is a computer for? I was therefore disappointed to see that my favourite Reversi appeared to have been removed from Vista. But the Help function says otherwise.
Start Help and Support. Search for 'Reversi'
It displays: "What happened to the internet games that used to be I Windows?"
Click this question. The text is reassuring! Click 'Reversi'.
The Internet Explorer appears with a lot of text. Click "Play Reversi on MSN Messenger now!"
In the next page click "Reversi (Play Now!) – NEW!"
It displays: "Searching for friends to play this game with". Do nothing.
After a moment it displays the following: My Contacts Select the person you would like to use this feature with, and then click OK Sorry you have no contacts Please add a contact first
Apparently the game cannot be played with anyone in the world (unlike the XP games). And I have no idea how to add a 'contact', let alone a 'contact' who is willing to play with me right now.

Playing games via the internet
File a bug, see if they'll put it back in.

Do you have any Messenger Contacts? If not or you want to play with others, try the Zone: http://zone.msn.com/en/root/default.htm
My understanding is the internet games available in Windows XP are not available in Vista since games can already be played on Messenger and the Zone.
When I clicked Reversi, I was taken to the Zone. I got a message stating Reversi is retired and soon to be replaced by an updated version.

I suspect it was pulled for this build for quality assurance reasons and will return in a future build when fixed. I don't know if I would file a bug or use the "sentiments" hyperlink on the Feedback page (the one you get when you click on the Feedback icon).

I think your timezone is set wrong :-)
Are they referring to the ''contacts'' you have in your address book? I wonder if this is a security issue?
just a guess

I think it's looking for MSN Messenger contacts. Remember, MSN contacts are stored by the network, so that's an option.

Just like the contacts list in your email client, except for its for Messenger. If you have never used Messenger then of course you don't have any persons (contacts) yet with whom you can chat or play games with through Messenger.

If Reversi needs a lis tof contacts, it apparently will play with one of those few persons only. Let's hope that this person is willing and available at the moment. The ancient Reversi (XP) would search a person anywhere on the world. -- José
José; The Zone may be your only Microsoft option.
Windows Live Messenger: http://get.live.com/messenger/overview You can play Reversi and other games with people on your contact list. At least you will be able to play Reversi once it is updated.
